Kathy Sanderson defended her thesis on workplace ostracism at the St. Mary’s University, Canada, Halifax on the 20th January 2017. The thesis showed how ostracism – which is very little researched on with qualitative methods – has serious impacts on workers’ well-being,  work and wider social relations. Ostracism has many resemblances with gendered violence and it connects with workplace bullying.

Professor Albert Mills was the supervisor of the thesis. The committee had also other representation from WeAll:  Professor Jean Helms Mills, member of the committee (on the left) and  Associate Professor Marjut Jyrkinen, external examiner (second left).  The defendent Kathy Saunderson in the middle of the picture, and committee member Assistant Professor Feng Liu on the right.
